LA-based female and minority interests publisher Phenomenal Media has bought Reductress, a satirical magazine for women. The brand was established in 2013, aiming to comment on the way that women are portrayed in media and to promote women’s interests in the entertainment sector. Phenomenal was launched in 2017 to develop a community through content and has added book clubs and expanded into entertainment. The company was founded and is led by Meena Harris, niece of US VP Kamala Harris. Terms not disclosed but Reductress employs a staff of four FTEs and generates 60% of its revenue through merchandise and training.
