CRIF buys Irish credit check

India based, privately owned CRIF, a business information and credit checking company, which serves a global client base has acquired a 73% stake in the Dublin-based HPI (Hire Purchase Information) a specialist in car lease and purchase credit checking. HPI was established in 1948 and operates across Ireland and the UK with access to records from a pool of corporate shareholders including Bank of Ireland and AIB. CRIF operates a global corporate credit information service and the deal strengthens its offer in these territories following a previous acquisition of Dublin business information company Vision-Net.
