Axios has acquired The SF Minute, a local substack newsletter launched in 2020 by Nick Bastone that covers local news in the San Francisco area. The SF Minute editor Nick Bastone will join Axios to co-author what will be branded as Axios San Francisco.
Axios continues to expand its local media coverage: Axios Local will have expanded into 11 additional cities by the end of 2022. The daily morning newsletters will cover the most consequential news and developments unfolding in each of the cities. Axios says its San Francisco newsletter will:

- Deliver exclusive scoops and explore local trends.
- Maximize Axios’ proven Smart Brevity® style and newsletter format to make readers smarter, faster about the cities where they live.
Nick Bastone launched The SF Minute in 2020. Prior to this, he was a reporter at The Information and Business Insider.
