Simon & Schuster deal in court

It was in November 2020 that Bertlesmann’s Penguin Random House announced its bid to acquire Simon & Schuster. The deal – combining two of the top five book publishers in the US (and claimed to represent up to 50% of the market) – is now the subject of an “anti-trust” court action by the Justice Department. The hearing is expected to take three weeks.
