Georgia Uni buys civil rights books

The University of Georgia Press has acquired Alabama-based NewSouth Books, established in 2000, an independent trade publisher with a portfolio based on southern American history including civil rights. The plan is for the newly-acquired imprint to publish around 10 new titles annually. It has a back catalogue of 400 titles. The acquisition was financed by university support and philanthropy.
