Tarsus buying hits $100m

Tarsus Group, one of the world’s top 20 trade show organisers, this week acquired two US health events businesses, the six-year-old FounderMade and the 15-year-old Health Connect Partners (HCP) for an estimated total of $25m.

FounderMade and HCP will be part of the newly-created Tarsus Health division, alongside existing Tarsus Medical brands (A4M, LiVDerm, PAINWeek and CMHC) and BodySite, the digital health platform acquired earlier this year. Tarsus says it plans to acquire and launch further healthcare and wellness brands in 2022.

The deals complete an active year of M&A for the UK-based trade show group which has made six acquisitions in 2021. Tarsus has completed a total of 14 transactions (worth an estimated $100m) since it was was acquired by Charterhouse private equity for $710m (£560m) in 2019. It has been particularly active in China which is now thought to account for some 25% of Tarsus revenue (x 10 that in 2019).
