Former US President Donald Trump has announced plans to launch a new social media platform which will be called Truth Social after he was banned from both Twitter and Facebook, with whom Trump now intends to compete. Truth Social says it aims to promote free speech although it will discourage users from criticising the site itself. The site, launching in beta in November and live next year, will be launched through a merger with a SPAC and will be called Trump Media & Technology Group. A stock market listing is planned for 2022. Apparently.
