Vox buys Punch drinks brand

Vox Media, US owner of The Verge, Vox and New York magazine, has bought the Punch media brand which covers drinks and cocktails. Punch will join Vox’s Eater segment covering food and hospitality. The cocktail sector has seen renewed interest through the pandemic with a multiplicity of cocktail subscription businesses emerging and the acquisition is likely to strengthen Vox’s push into e-commerce. Punch was founded in 2013 and includes website, newsletters and book and gift lines.
