Euronext has finalised the acquisition of Borsa Italiana in a deal announced in October last year and worth €4.4bn. The market was sold by London Stock Exchange in order to comply with regulatory demands related to its purchase of Refinitiv. The expanded Euronext business will trade over €12bn in shares and ETFs each day. The acquisition supports the company’s strategy of developing a capital markets infrastructure across Europe.
