Tarsus buys China glass events

The 21-year-old Tarsus operates some 160 events in 17 countries including in the aviation, medical, labels and travel industries. Flagship brands include Labelexpo , Connect and the Dubai Airshow.

The UK-based, now private equity-owned Tarsus exhibitions group has bought a 70% stake in the Shenzehen Zhong Xin Cai Exhibition company who organise the Touch China and 3D Glass Expo events.

It is Tarsus’ first acquisition since its £560m acquisition by Charterhouse Capital, and its first foray into the Chinese electronics sector. Touch China was launched in 2006, is held annually and covers the high growth sector curved glass manufacturing. Its last event attracted 22.500 visitors to 380 exhibitors. Interest in the sector is high as 3D glass becomes adopted in telecoms, automotive, consumer electronics and medical markets.
