J2 buys BabyCenter

US company J2 Global Inc’s Everyday Health Group has acquired BabyCenter from Johnson and Johnson. BabyCenter, founded in 2007, is a digital pregnancy and parenting online information source, supported by content from doctors and health professionals, with a claimed 100m monthly visitors across the US and international versions translated into nine languages.

J2 is a $1.3bn-revenue listed technology company with a portfolio of brands including IGN, Mashable, Humble Bundle, Speedtest, PCMag, Offers.com, Everyday Health and What To Expect in its Digital Media business and eFax, eVoice, iContact, VIPRE, KeepItSafe, IPVanish and LiveDrive in its Cloud Services business. J2 claims to reach over 180m people per month across its brands.

J2 has achieved 23 consecutive fiscal years of revenue growth and is an active acquirer of businesses, having invested more than $2.5bn in 178 companies since it was established in 1995. It has over 2,700 employees around the world.
