A new online media and e-commerce company, The Cool Down, is being launched to cover climate change and has attracted $5.7m in funding. The company aims to provide trusted content and, ultimately, be a source of recommendations for purchase decisions. The co-founders are Anna Robertson (formerly of ABC and Yahoo) and Dave Finocchio, CEO of the Bleacher Report. The fund raising has been led by Upfront Ventures. The company will attempt to target viral content and celebrity involvement in order to establish itself.
