S&P buys Climate Service

S&P Global, the NY quoted financial data company, has added The Climate Service to augment its ESG credentials. The Climate Service, based in North Carolina, was established in 2017 and has won awards for its climate risk analysis serving business and government. Its brands include Climanomics, which aims to quantify climate risk including natural events in conjunction with changing legal and financial conditions. The acquisition will join the S&P Global Sustainable portfolio, launched last year. S&P Global has revenues of $7.5bn ahead of its planned “merger” with IHS Markit.
