Fox buys TMZ

Fox Corp, the Murdoch family-controlled media company, has bought celebrity news site TMZ for a sum thought to be around $50m from Warner Media. The site was founded in 2005 by Harvey Levin who will continue as managing editor. The brand also operates TV programmes and Hollywood area bus tours as well as a culture site called TooFab. com. The two companies have longstanding links with TMZ programming being shown on Fox operated stations.
