The Global Media Weekly for executives and entrepreneurs

Recurrent buys MEL mag

Recurrent Ventures, based in Miami, is buying men’s health and interest MEL Magazine from its parent Dollar Shave Club. Recurrent (backed by North Equity venture capital) owns the media brands The Drive, Saveur, Popular Science, and Outdoor Life. It is to establish a lifestyle division with the newly relaunched MEL Magazine at the core. The title has lain dormant since April but staff will be re-hired.

Recurrent previously acquired The Drive from Meredith Corp. in 2018, and a number of brands from Bonnier Corp in 2020, including Popular Science and Saveur. In January this year, it acquired the homes oriented Domino Media.
