The Definitive AI Forum: 2026 Masterclasses announced

As part of The Definitive AI Forum for Media, Information and Events, the upcoming AI-focused event with Flashes & Flames on Wednesday 18 November, MediaVoices will be running a series of Masterclasses to help publishing professionals get practical advice and experience for making the most of these technologies.

These expert-led Masterclasses will open for booking to existing ticket holders (at no additional charge) two weeks before the event. Exact timings are to be confirmed, and further classes to be added shortly.

Masterclass 1: The Agentic Media Company

Lead: James Carson

If you were building a media startup today – where would you start? Between platform choices, workflows and prompting, this masterclass showcases how media companies can go agentic from the ground up.

James Carson is Founder of Agentic – a content focused AI consultancy that works with media owners and brands with significant content requirements. Previously he was Managing Director of History Hit, an award winning broadcast network, and held senior audience roles at The Telegraph and Bauer Media.

Masterclass 2: AI or Human? How to Build a Digital Employee for Your Media Business

Lead: Brian D’Erario

Which jobs should AI own, and which still need a person? In this practical Masterclass, Brian D’Erario will share a framework for dividing work between AI and people, then show how Kerri built a digital employee to support sales, inbox management, CRM, finance, and event operations. Participants will leave with a way to identify the best first jobs for AI, understand where human judgment remains essential, and introduce AI into their own workflows safely.

Brian D’Erario is the co-founder and CEO of Kerri, an operating company that partners with trusted B2B experts to build media brands and conferences, with proprietary AI running much of the back office. Before founding Kerri, Brian helped grow and served as Chief Business Officer of Arkaea Media Group. Today, he leads Kerri’s work across Hardware FYI, Trove, Standard & Works, and its AI operating system.

Masterclass 3: Five newsroom strategies for using AI responsibly

Lead: Harriet Meyer

How can newsrooms use AI without compromising accuracy, transparency, or audience trust? This practical masterclass covers five strategies for using AI responsibly in journalism by drawing on examples from leading media organisations.

We’ll cover how to assess potential use cases, identify risks, set proportionate safeguards, and decide when AI should and should not be used. The emphasis is on AI as an assistant that supports journalism rather than replaces editorial judgement. Attendees will leave with a clear framework they can use to develop responsible policies, test new tools, and encourage confident experimentation across their newsroom without compromising standards.

Harriet Meyer helps editorial teams on how to use AI wisely, without the nonsense. She’s the founder of AI for Media and an award-winning financial journalist with more than 20 years’ experience across national newspapers. Harriet delivers keynotes, bootcamps and tailored workshops across Europe. Her sessions are grounded in real examples, with practical frameworks and strategies. She trains teams in responsible AI adoption, practical AI literacy and what the technology means for the future of work in media. Masterclass 4: Beyond Efficiency: How AI Actually Creates Revenue

Lead: Raoul Monks

Most sales AI promises greater productivity: less admin, faster content, better call summaries and more selling time. But what if the bigger opportunity is using AI to make your people more valuable to your customers?

As more of the buying journey becomes digital, self-directed and automated, the human interactions that remain matter more, not less. Buyers don’t need another salesperson repeating information they can find themselves. They need people who understand what they’re trying to achieve, help them make sense of their options, challenge their thinking and make it easier to make a good decision.

In this practical masterclass, Raoul Monks will explore a different way of thinking about sales AI: not simply what work can AI take away from people, but what can AI help people do better for the customer?

Participants will use the session to examine their own commercial model and come away able to answer:

  • Where could AI genuinely improve commercial performance, rather than simply save time or cost?
  • How could a better buying experience help us win the right business, demonstrate more value and create stronger, longer-term customer relationships?
  • Which decisions, behaviours and workflows would need to change to make that happen?

Raoul Monks is Founder and CEO of Flume, which helps B2B media, events, information and technology businesses create faster, more predictable revenue growth. Flume is also the creator of THEA, an AI sales platform that combines buyer intelligence, sales methodology and agentic workflows to help salespeople understand what is preventing a buyer from progressing and determine what should happen next.
