The potential acquisition of Tribune Publishing by Alden Capital may not proceed, despite being authorised by shareholders. Stewart Bainum had agreed to buy some of the smaller titles including the Baltimore Sun, for $65m and says he is now preparing to buy the whole company. The total deal may be worth $630m. Alternatively, Alden Capital may additionally take on the Baltimore Sun and the other titles.
