Unacademy buys into TapChief

India’s edtech provider Unacademy has bought a majority stake in recruitment and business networking site TapChief. TapChief, established in 2016, facilitates peer-to-peer learning in business and places contract vacancies. The company has previously raised $2.5m in funding from angels and startup investors who have all been offered an exit with this deal.

Unacademy is an interactive edtech platform, backed by Japan’s Softbank and claims to be India’s largest edtech company. The two companies have been collaborating over the last four years with courses on skills for entering the workplace. Terms not disclosed.
