Norwegian chess training company Play Magnus Group has bought Dutch chess publisher Interchess BV, publisher of international magazine New In Chess. The company also publishes chess books. The magazine generated revenues of €2m in 2020, has readers in over 100 countries and is profitable. Play Magnus was founded in 2013 by chess world champion Magnus Carlsen and the two companies have collaborated on Play Magnus’ e-learning Chessable website. Terms not disclosed.
