Music, TV and publishing group Vivendi, of France, is negotiating to acquire the Paris-based magazine publisher Prisma Media from its owner Gruner + Jahr, a Bertelsmann subsidiary.
The €400m-revenue Prisma publishes over 20 major brands in France including Télé-Loisirs, Femme Actuelle, Gala, Voici, Neon, and GEO with a claimed audience reach of 42m. The deal enhances Vivendi’s stake in publishing following previous acquisitions such as Editis and a stake in Lagardère. Vivendi had revenues of €16bn in 2019, and has a current market cap of €31bn.
