Cerner buys Kantar unit

Nasdaq quoted US healthcare IT company Cerner is to buy the health division of data and consulting company Kantar. The deal is worth $375m in cash for a business with revenues of $150m. Kantar Health serves the biosciences sector with data, research and analysis.

Cerner aims to use the deal as a foundation in building a data insights and research offer to its clients. Kantar Health’s syndicated research reaches all the leading life science companies. The goal is to build more collaboration between healthcare providers and their pharmaceutical suppliers. The deal should close in the first half of 2021.
