S&P Global Platts, provider of information to the commodities and energy markets, has added Live Rice Index (LRI) to its portfolio. LRI provides data and price information to the rice industry and supplements S&P Global Platt’s portfolio of agricultural price products.
LRI was founded in 2011 and has established a strong position within agricultural pricing. The acquisition will broaden S&P Global Platts agricultural coverage, adding rice to its portfolio of data products across grains, oilseeds, animal feed, sugar and biofuels. Terms were not disclosed.
S&P Global is the $7bn US listed company (formerly part of McGraw Hill) which includes S&P Global Ratings and S&P Global Marketing Intelligence. The London-based S&P Global Platts has price reporting agencies in commodities, chemicals, energy, metals as well as agriculture.
