RiseUp, of Egypt, has acquired Saudi Arabian company MENAbytes which publishes online across Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in the tech and digital media space. Also included in the sale is a new data service track MENA which tracks VC and M&A activity in the region. MENAbytes was founded in 2017 by Zubair Naeem Paracha. Its coverage has expanded to include Pakistan with Turkey as a further possibility for geographical expansion. Paracha will continued to lead the business. RiseUp organises the RiseUp Summit in the region, reaching out to startups and entrepreneurs.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
