Arc Media Holdings (trading as the Arc Network) – the UK-based global events, data, and media platform backed by EagleTree Capital and led by former UBM executive Simon Foster – is making its largest acquisition, the sixth deal in its first 14 months. It has agreed to acquire a portfolio of US events and media serving the HR Technology and Education Technology sectors from the $70m-revenue, 45-year-old LRP Media Group, of Florida, US.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it is said to be Arc’s largest acquisition so far and “will add substantial scale to the overall Arc platform. The assets will also significantly expand the Arc Network in the US creating a robust complement to Arc’s European business.” Arc’s previous largest deal had been the £43m acquisition of UK-based financial publisher Incisive Media.
Arc Network now organises over 120 events a year and operates content platforms in HR technology, agriculture and food, financial services and investing and education technology, with operations in the US, UK, Netherlands and Singapore.
LRP provides training and professional development to a claimed 80,000 professionals through 10 annual conferences and trade shows in China, Singapore and the US. It also publishes magazines, books and digital media.
LRP, which currently employs more than 500 people in the US and Singapore, was founded by its CEO and president Ken Kahn.
