Footballco buys Mundial

The UK-based Footballco, which claims to be the world’s largest football content and media business, has acquired Mundial Studio, creator of the eight-year-old Mundial magazine and the Giant podcast.

Publication of the print magazine had been suspended during the pandemic but Footballco confirmed it will resume in June. Mundial had previously operated an e-commerce business, selling books and magazines, clothing and gifts. Footballco’s other brands

Footballco is a portfolio of digital brands including: Goal, Spox (Germany), Voetbalzone (the Netherlands), Calcio Mercato (Italy) and Player (a sports in-stream video player). Its Goal flagship is produced in 17 languages. Footballco claims a monthly audience of 65m.
