The countdown is on to The Definitive AI Forum for Media, Information & Events, taking place on 25 November in Central London. Some 30 CEOs and industry leaders participating in our fireside chats, panel discussions, practical workshops and networking. Here are a few of them:
Christopher Gasson, the founder-chair of the UK-based Global Water Intelligence, says: “It is the beginning of a data gold rush. Datasets, which might have been prohibitively expensive to build just a few months ago, can be scraped together in an afternoon by amateurs who has never written a line of code.

“It is a huge opportunity for us, but it is also going to change the dynamics of the sector. Nimble publishers who know what their customers want will do well, but they will run slap bang into a new challenge: on what basis should customers trust their brand? Imagine an IPO document or a corporate strategy presentation where the killer graphic, the one that clinches the deal, says “source: ChatGPT” beneath. Who is going to take anything seriously after that? What it means is that data providers that rely heavily on AI for building their datasets are going to have to develop a new source of competitive advantage: validating their AI processes so they can be absolutely relied upon.
“My theory is that data publishers perversely rely on outsiders rather than insiders to make their money. Insiders generally have a better feeling for prices, metrics and trends in their gut than anything we might try to sell to them on a screen. Outsiders don’t. What they want is someone who they can trust to help them through the jungle. AI can’t. It is just another part of that jungle, full of fear and feints. It creates an even greater need for a trusted guide.”
“Creates the potential for events companies like us”
Greg Hitchen, CEO of Terrapinn, one of the world’s fastest growing events companies, says: “AI is already creating profound process and revenue opportunities. It is the key to unlocking deeper and more meaningful buyer /seller relationships. And it creates the potential for Terrapinn to become a broader media company. We strongly believe that the future belongs to those who master AI and tech in general, and we aim to be right up there.”
“It’s already delivering for Mumsnet”
Sue Macmillan, CEO of Mumsnet, the UK’s largest parenting site (now 25 years old) says: AI is already delivering two big wins for Mumsnet: automating repetitive work so our teams can focus on growth, and transforming our unique community data into sharper insights for clients.”
“A triple win for Informa”
Alex Roth, Group Strategy Director, Informa Plc says: “AI at Informa powers streamlined ways of working, elevates our core products, and amplifies content discoverability—all driving measurable value across our portfolio. This creates a triple win for our colleagues, our customers, and sustainable business growth.”
