A360 buys bookazines publisher

A360 Media – formerly known as American Media Inc (AMI) – has acquired Centennial Media LLC, a specialist publisher of “single issue publications” covering topics in health, wellness, history, current events, home, food, and travel. The deal makes A360 the second largest publisher of bookazines in the US with an estimated 30% market share; Dotdash Meredith is believed to have a 54% share.

Centennial Media has been ranked among the top 10 US publishers based on retail (as opposed to subscription) sales at over 50,000 outlets. It also publishes books and international editions.

Earlier this year, A360 Media acquired the remainder of Bauer’s US publishing including Woman’s World, First for Women and its bookazine business producing 100 editions annually. In 2018, the then AMI had acquired Bauer’s US celebrity magazines for an estimated $80m.

A360 Media, which is owned by retail distribution company Accelerate360, LLC, publishes leading celebrity and health & fitness media brands in the US, including: Star, Closer, USWeekly, Life & Style, Men’s Journal, and InTouch.
