Nexstar buys CW Network

US local TV company Nexstar Media Group has acquired 75% of CW Network, leaving Paramount and Warner Brothers Discovery each with a 12.5% stake in the business. Both will continue to supply content to CW Network. The CW Network was established in 2006 by CBS and Warner Bros predominantly as an entertainment channel. As well as its extensive local TV interests of 200 owned or partnered stations, Nexstar owns NewsNation, a news and entertainment cable company, and over 30% of TV Food Network.
