Media Business Insight Ltd (MBI), the UK-based publisher of Broadcast and Screen International, has been acquired by GlobalData Plc for a net price believed to be £19.4mn in cash (6x EBITDA). Mobeus private equity had bought the business from Ascential for £11.7m in 2015. MBI, which employs 85 people, is believed to have made £3m of EBITDA in 2021. It is not known if MBI will, at some point, be ‘reunited’ with former Ascential stable-mate Press Gazette which is now owned privately by GlobalData‘s CEO-founder, Mike Danson.
