Elsevier buys Osmosis

Elsevier, the STM subsidiary of RELX, has acquired US based online health platform Osmosis.org to supplement its medical education offer. The platform is used by HCPs to simplify their learning through easy to use, evidence-based, small modules.

Osmosis has reach across almost 200 countries with over 2m YouTube subscribers. The acquisition will allow Elsevier to apply the visual education strengths of Osmosis to other properties in its portfolio. Osmosis will join Elsevier’s Global Medical Education portfolio which includes the more traditional brands Gray’s Anatomy and Netter’s as well as more recent acquisitions such as Shadow Health which develops nursing training simulations and 3D4 Medical, a VR anatomy platform.
