The Global Media Weekly for executives and entrepreneurs

Belgian TV deal

DPG Media and Groupe Rossel, both Belgium-based media companies, have agreed to buy The Belgian TV assets of RTL Group for a price believed to be about €250m. RTL had been a shareholder in the TV interests for over 30 years and took control only in December of last year. Groupe Rossel’s key brand is the daily news brand Le Soir, while DPG Media operates an eclectic range of publishing brands across three countries. Each company will own 50% of the new TV entity. Their aim is to accelerate the move to digital TV and online video.  DPG Media Group
