Longtime UK events industry executive Toby Wand has announced the acquisition of Scotland’s ScotHot and Northern Ireland’s IFEX exhibitions from the London-based Montgomery Group, via his new 365 Events Ltd.
IFEX is one of Northern Ireland’s longest-standing trade exhibitions and is home to 6,500 visitors every two years. It last took place in 2018 and is intended to return in 2022. ScotHot is Scotland’s leading food, drink, tourism and hospitality event, attended by some 5,000 professionals. ScotHot returns in 2023. The two events are thought to have combined revenues of some £750k.
Toby Wand was, until 2017, managing director of Montgomery Fresh, the operator of catering shows including the two he has now acquired. The deal was supported by vendor finance but the terms were not disclosed.
