Fox buys Outkick sports

The Murdoch family-controlled, US listed Fox Corp is acquiring the 13-year-old Outkick Media, a sport, news and culture content company, from its sportswriter founder Clay Travis and Savage Ventures. Fox already collaborates with Outkick: Fox Sports Radio is the home of Travis’s national daily broadcast, and he is a regular guest on the Fox Sports 1 cable channel.

Attractions of the Outkick brand include its irreverent sports content, level of audience engagement and potential for growth in sports betting. It’s politically right wing too. The sports radio show produced by Outkick attracts 10m listeners per month and the podcast has 4m monthly downloads. The demographic tends to be young, college educated and affluent.
