Cinedigm buys Fandor

Cinedigm, a US-based streaming service owned by China’s Bison Capital, has bought independent film streaming company Fandor.

Fandor was established 10 years ago and has a film library of almost 5,000 titles. Cinedigm aims to relaunch the brand later in the year boosted by the addition of its own 7,000 film content including The Film Detective archive. The company aims to attract over 1m subscribers within two years, supplemented by a non-subscription advertising revenue version. Terms were not disclosed.
