IMC buys Goal.com for $100m

Integrated Media Company (IMC), is to buy a majority stake in Goal.com from the DAZN Group of Access Industries Inc.

The deal, which will give the TPG-funded IMC control of the claimed global leader in digital football along with German and Dutch brands Spox and VoetbalZone, is believed to have valued the business at $100m.  DAZN is to re-focus its efforts around boxing. 

DAZN (formerly the Perform Group) had acquired Goal.com in 2011 for £18m. It also operates a global streaming service focused on boxing,

Access Industries is a US, privately-owned holding company, founded in 1986 by its chairman Leonard Blavatnik. Its media and entertainment investments include: Warner Music Group, DAZN, Deezer, (the music streaming service with 15m monthly users), and Access Entertainment, which invests in TV, film, and theatre.
