Mission Broadcasting, the US TV company, is to buy New York channel PIX11 from parent EW Scripps for $75m. EW Scripps had acquired the station as part of its TV acquisitions from Nexstar and had a regulatory requirement to divest following its 2019 acquisition of eight TV stations from Nexstar Media Group and Tribune Media as part of their merger.
The Cincinnati, Ohio-based Scripps paid $505m for seven stations, and $75m for WPIX, the same price as it is now selling for.
