Trustbridge buys Walker Books

Trustbridge Global Media has acquired Walker Books, which includes the UK imprint of that name and US imprint Candlewick Press. Walker Books had been owned by its employees. Trustbridge intends to maintain the same operating arrangements with MD of Walker Karen Lotz remaining in the role. Walker Books was founded in 1980 and its titles include Where’s Wally?, children’s classic Guess How Much I Love You and Judy Moody. The company also has a subsidiary in Australia, which is included in the sale.

The acquisition will strengthen Trustbridge’s global reach within the children’s book market. Trustbridge was founded in 2016 by a Chinese PE firm of the same name (Trustbridge Partners) and has made two previous acquisitions within children’s books as well as establishing its own imprint in New York.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
