The listed Media Central Corporation, of Canada, has acquired the privately-owned The Georgia Straight, a popular weekly newspaper covering the Vancouver area, which has been established for over 50 years. MCC is paying C$1.25m for the paper which has a readership of 2.7m in print and 1.8m in digital.
