Reed Expo buys out India JV

Reed Exhibitions has taken full control of the three events in India it previously owned through a JV with Inter Ads-Brooks, part of its £200m acquisition of Mack Brooks, of the UK. The events are Blech India, Fastener Fair and ExpoRail.

The £1.2bn-revenue Reed operates over 500 events in 30 countries and is the world’s second largest trade show organiser (after Informa Markets). As the smallest division of the £35bn RELX global information-based analytics group, its future ownership has long been the subject of speculation.

The privately-owned Mack Brooks owned more than 30 exhibitions in 14 countries, across airport technology, chemicals, packaging, and fasteners. The company, whose major brands included Euro Blech, InPrint, RailTex, FastenerFair, InterAirport and ChemSpec, had long been one of the UK’s most admired independent exhibition organisers.
