Hong Kong-based Angus Montgomery Arts has purchased the remaining 65% stake in the India Art Fair based in New Delhi that was previously held by MCH Group of Switzerland.
The fair covers modern and contemporary art across South Asia. Angus Montgomery Arts claims to own more East Asia art fairs than any other organiser including Sydney Contemporary, Art Central Hong Kong, and Art SG, in Singapore. The fair will continue to be run by Jagdip Jagpal who has directed it since 2017. Terms were not disclosed.
Angus Montgomery (owned in the UK by The Montgomery Trust) had revenue in the 12 months ended 30 June 2018 of £17.4m. It has shareholdings and subsidiaries in South Africa, Nigeria, and Australia.
