Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited, the new investment vehicle of former Elton John and Guns N’ Roses manager Merck Mercuriadis, successfully floated on the London Stock Exchange this week, raising £200M to buy up music copyrights. It immediately announced its $23m (£18m) acquisition of a 75% stake in the catalogue of American singer-songwriter, record producer and rapper Terius Youngdell Nash (better known by his stage name “The-Dream“).
